Brazil (ISO-Code: BR) is located in South America and, with an area of about 8.5 million square kilometers, is the fifth largest country in the world. It borders nearly all South American countries except Chile and Ecuador and has an approximately 7,500 km long Atlantic coastline. Politically, Brazil is a federal presidential republic with 26 states and a federal district. The climate varies significantly: tropical in the north, savanna-like in the central highlands, and subtropical in the south. Economically, Brazil is a globally significant producer of agricultural products, iron ore, oil, and industrial goods, while the service sector is growing rapidly.
