Overview
Thailand (ISO code: TH) lies in Southeast Asia on the Indochinese Peninsula, bordering Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia and fronting the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. It is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system and a tropical climate marked by a rainy season from May to October. Economically it is one of the region's leading industrial nations, strong in electronics, automotive production, machinery, tourism and agriculture. It exports vehicles, electronics, machinery and agricultural products while relying on imports for energy, raw materials and consumer goods. Logistically Thailand offers modern seaports such as Laem Chabang, international airports and a dense road and rail network, giving it a central transit and transhipment role in Southeast Asia. The currency is the Thai Baht (THB).
