Egypt (ISO Code: EG) is located in the northeastern part of Africa and connects Africa with the Middle East through the Sinai Peninsula. Politically, Egypt is a presidential republic and plays a central role in the Arab world as well as in Africa. The climate is predominantly arid to hyper-arid with very hot summers and mild winters, which significantly impacts transport and warehousing. Economically, the country has high strategic importance due to its location between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. The Suez Canal makes Egypt one of the most important global transit countries for international maritime trade. Energy products, chemicals, agricultural goods, and industrial products dominate foreign trade. Egypt is highly import-dependent, especially for food, machinery, vehicles, and refined products. The logistics infrastructure focuses on seaports, pipelines, free trade zones, and multimodal transport corridors. The national currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP).
