LIM Airport (Jorge Chávez International Airport) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

Some 267,000 tonnes of air cargo passed through Jorge Chávez International Airport (IATA: LIM, ICAO: SPJC) in 2025, confirming its position as Peru's dominant freight gateway. Located in Callao on the edge of Lima, the airport concentrates the bulk of the country's international air trade. Perishable agricultural exports drive the volumes: asparagus, blueberries and mangoes shipped chiefly to Madrid, Miami, Bogotá and Asian markets. A dedicated refrigerated warehouse run by Frío Aéreo maintains the cold chain for these temperature-sensitive goods, while the adjacent Lima Cargo City complex houses the main handling agents, forwarders and customs services in one logistics park. The airport is operated by Lima Airport Partners (LAP), with customs clearance handled by Peru's SUNAT/Aduanas. Road links via Avenida Faucett connect the cargo terminals to Callao and the neighbouring seaport, enabling combined sea-air movements. A new passenger terminal and a second runway, opened in 2025, have substantially raised capacity for both freight and passengers. In the first half of 2026, cargo traffic grew 4.5% to around 131,000 tonnes, while the airport handled 12 million passengers over the same period — further evidence of sustained growth following the capacity expansion.
