BLR Airport (Kempegowda International Airport) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

Bengaluru's position as India's technology capital shapes everything about Kempegowda International Airport (BLR): electronics, pharmaceuticals and perishables dominate its cargo mix. In fiscal year 2025/26 the airport handled 532,012 tonnes of freight alongside more than 44 million passengers, ranking it among India's top three cargo airports. That total marks 6% growth over the prior year's 502,509 tonnes, carried by 15 cargo airlines serving 38 destinations from Bengaluru. Three dedicated cargo terminals serve forwarders: AISATS operates a facility rated at around 150,000 tonnes per year, DHL Express and Blue Dart Aviation jointly run a 20,500 m² express terminal, and Menzies Aviation Bobba handles a further share of throughput. BLR is also one of India's leading departure points for perishable exports such as cut flowers and vegetables, supported by temperature-controlled storage. Customs clearance and bonded warehousing are available on site within the Air Cargo Complex. The airport sits at Devanahalli, about 35 km north of the city, with direct access to National Highway 44. For shippers moving high-value tech goods out of southern India, BLR is the natural first option.
