Caruru Airport (IATA: CUO, ICAO: SKCR) is a basic strip on the Río Vaupés in Colombia's Vaupés department, deep in the Amazon and reachable in practice only by air or river. Light aircraft serve it on demand and under subsidised social routes, bringing passengers, mail and basic supplies to the village; there is no cargo terminal, no warehousing and no customs post, and commercial air freight plays no part here. Consignments are fed in through Mitú (MVP), the departmental capital, or through Villavicencio (VVC), while Colombia's international cargo gateway is El Dorado in Bogotá (BOG).
