CLO Airport (Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

Cut flowers, tropical fruit and vegetables from the Valle del Cauca make up the bulk of what leaves Colombia through Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO/SKCL). Ranked fourth in the country for cargo, the Palmira-based airport handled roughly 44,000 tonnes of freight in 2019 and 7.3 million passengers in 2025. Both belly cargo on passenger services and dedicated freighter movements are handled, with temperature-controlled and perishable shipments dominating the export mix. Named carriers and handling agents change with the season and should be confirmed with the ground handler before booking. Road access links the airport to Cali, some 16 km to the south-west, and to the Pacific seaport of Buenaventura around 120 km away, which makes combined sea-air routings realistic. Customs clearance runs through DIAN, with additional ICA phytosanitary checks on flowers and food exports. Public operation returned to Aeronáutica Civil on 1 September 2025; Bogotá El Dorado (BOG) and Medellín José María Córdova (MDE) remain the alternatives for larger air freight volumes.
