Grenada (ISO code: GD) is an island state in the eastern Caribbean, south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, comprising the main island plus Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Politically it is a parliamentary democracy within the Commonwealth. The climate is tropical with a marked rainy and dry season and an Atlantic hurricane season from June to November. The economy rests on agriculture, services and tourism, with nutmeg, spices and cocoa as key exports, while the country relies heavily on imports of food, fuel and industrial goods. The Port of St. George's and Maurice Bishop International Airport secure the country's transit and logistics functions. Which customs system does Grenada use?
Grenada processes imports and exports electronically via ASYCUDA World. The Customs and Excise Division within the Ministry of Finance is responsible; imports are usually filed by a licensed customs broker, based on the CIF value.
What is the import VAT rate in Grenada?
The standard VAT rate is 15 percent. A reduced 10 percent rate applies to accommodation and diving, and 20 percent to telecommunications. Import VAT is paid to the customs authority together with the duty.
What additional charges apply to imports?
