PSS Airport (Libertador Gral D Jose De San Martin Airport) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

Aerolíneas Argentinas flies roughly 55% of the schedule at Posadas, with low-cost carriers Flybondi (27%) and JetSmart (17%) handling the rest, almost all of it to Buenos Aires. Named after General José de San Martín, the airport (PSS/SARP) sits about 7 km southwest of the capital of Misiones Province, on the Paraná River across from Paraguay. Its cargo profile mirrors the province's farms: yerba mate, tea, coffee and spices account for about a third of air freight, paper and board for roughly 32%, and other agricultural goods for some 27%. That freight travels in the holds of the passenger flights and is consolidated at Ezeiza for international export. There are no dedicated freighters, yet the steady flow of regional produce makes Posadas a genuine collection point rather than a token cargo stop. National Route 12 and the bridge to Encarnación tie its catchment into the wider network. For forwarders, the airport is best understood as a feeder for non-perishable agricultural exports heading toward Buenos Aires.
