About This Airport

The paving of Aeroestación Yabotí in 2025 was a tourism and emergency-response project rather than a freight one, and that distinction shapes everything a shipper needs to know about the field. Located about 15 km from El Soberbio in Argentina's Misiones province, on the edge of the Yabotí Biosphere Reserve, it offers a single 1,200 by 30 metre asphalt runway serving charter traffic to the Moconá Falls, medical flights and water-bombing aircraft. No scheduled airline and no cargo terminal operate here, so air freight capability is effectively limited to small consignments carried on general aviation aircraft. Regional air cargo for northeastern Misiones moves through Posadas (PSS), roughly 195 km to the southwest, or Puerto Iguazú (IGR) further north, while intercontinental shipments clear customs at Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE). El Soberbio sits on the Río Uruguay opposite Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state, so Mercosur road crossings frequently beat any air option for cross-border freight. Anyone quoted this field as an air cargo destination should treat it as a delivery area served by truck.
