EHL Airport (El Bolsón Airfield) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

El Bolsón Airfield (EHL/SAVB) in Río Negro has had no commercial scheduled service for years and is currently closed by Argentina's civil aviation authority ANAC, so it offers nothing to a freight planner. The municipality began repair work in 2026 to meet basic safety requirements and recover the operating permit, but no date for resuming scheduled flights has been confirmed. The strip still sees medical evacuation flights, helicopter movements and water-bombing aircraft during the Patagonian fire season. There is no cargo terminal, no customs post and no capacity to handle palletised freight — and there never was. Produce from this fruit, berry, hops and craft valley leaves by truck on National Route 40 to Bariloche Airport (BRC) roughly 120 kilometres north, which has scheduled service and ground handling. From Bariloche, international air cargo continues through Buenos Aires-Ezeiza (EZE), Argentina's principal freight gateway, while Bahía Blanca is the nearest option for sea freight.
