PRG Airport (Václav Havel Airport Prague) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

Qatar Airways Cargo, Turkish Cargo and FedEx all added capacity at Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG/LKPR) during 2025, and Central Airlines opened a dedicated freighter link from Chengdu — together pushing the Czech capital's airport to a record 96,481 tonnes of cargo and mail, 48% more than a year earlier. Imports made up 58,672 tonnes, or 61% of the total, after an 83% jump, while exports reached 37,809 tonnes. Alongside those freighters, a large share of volume still moves as belly cargo on passenger flights, so available space follows the passenger schedule. The airport sits in Ruzyně about ten kilometres west of central Prague, linked to the Czech motorway network via the Prague Ring Road and served by frequent road feeder services to the larger Central European gateways. Customs clearance follows the EU Union Customs Code: intra-EU consignments move freely, while third-country goods are cleared by the Czech customs administration on site. For heavy lift or express volumes, Leipzig/Halle (LEJ, roughly 250 road kilometres and DHL's European express base) and Vienna (VIE, some 330 kilometres) are the usual alternatives. Shippers moving pharmaceuticals, perishables or dangerous goods should confirm temperature-controlled and DGR handling capacity with their ground handler before booking.
