Around 38,000 passengers used Karlovy Vary Airport (IATA: KLV, ICAO: LKKV) in 2024, a 174% jump on 2023 that confirms its place as the Czech Republic's fourth-busiest airport, near Olšová Vrata some 6 km southeast of the spa town of Carlsbad in western Bohemia. Once-dominant scheduled services to Russia have largely disappeared, leaving charter, business and private flights to define operations. A runway upgrade running through 2025–2026 aims to accommodate larger aircraft and low-cost carriers. The airport handles no scheduled air cargo; for import and export, Prague Václav Havel (PRG) is the nearest genuine cargo hub, about 110 km (roughly one hour by road) away.
