Runway, apron and buildings at Sitalchay belong to a military airbase on the Caspian coast north of Baku, not to a commercial airport. No passenger or cargo airlines use the field, and it offers no public handling or customs facilities for forwarders. Air freight for the Baku–Sumqayit corridor is processed at nearby Heydar Aliyev International (GYD), the base of Silk Way West Airlines. For logistics planning, Sitalchay can be set aside.
