Tour buses bound for the Iguaçu Falls and the Itaipú dam set the rhythm at this airport on Brazil's far-western tip of Paraná, where the Brazilian, Argentine and Paraguayan borders meet. Scheduled service comes from LATAM, Azul, GOL and JetSMART, all passenger carriers, so freight moves mainly in the belly holds and rises or falls with the tourist calendar. IGU is not a dedicated cargo gateway: it offers a small customs-cleared cargo terminal for urgent and courier consignments rather than freighter operations. Heavier or scheduled air freight from western Paraná is best consolidated through Curitiba (CWB) or the Viracopos hub (VCP) near Campinas. For forwarders, the airport is a useful reference point for express and cross-border parcel traffic.
