Bartolomeu Lisandro Airport (IATA: CAW, ICAO: SBCP) in Campos dos Goytacazes is best understood as an offshore-support base, not a commercial cargo gateway. Scheduled flights have been suspended since August 2025; most movements are helicopters and aircraft carrying personnel and supplies for the Campos Basin and pré-sal oil fields. That cargo is dedicated oil-and-gas work traffic rather than open freight, and the airport has no commercial cargo terminal or all-cargo services. General air freight for the region is handled at Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) or Vitória. Private concessionaire Infra Operações Aeroportuárias has run the 1952-built field since 2019 under a 30-year deal. Since late 2025 the municipal development company Codemca has been working with Petrobras and Brazil's ministry of ports and airports to bring scheduled service back. For forwarders, CAW is a specialised energy-logistics point rather than a handling station.
