China Cargo Airlines Ltd., based in Shanghai, is the cargo airline of the listed Eastern Air Logistics Co., Ltd. (Shanghai Stock Exchange 601156) and therefore part of the China Eastern Airlines group. The company was founded in 1998 and was the first airline in China dedicated exclusively to air freight and air mail. Its operating model rests on two pillars. First, its own freighters: at the end of 2025 the group operated 18 Boeing 777Fs with an average fleet age of 4.25 years; after a further delivery in February 2026 the count stood at 19 aircraft as at 27 March 2026. Second, belly capacity: the group is the exclusive marketer of cargo space on the more than 800 passenger aircraft of China Eastern Airlines and, through SkyTeam, codeshare and SPA agreements, reaches 945 destinations in 145 countries and territories. Purchased capacity and road feeder services complete the offer. The operating bases are Shanghai Hongqiao (SHA) and Shanghai Pudong (PVG), with international freighter traffic routed through Pudong. The group is additionally developing Shenzhen (SZX) and Chongqing (CKG) as regional hubs. In 2025 the freighter network comprised 27 scheduled routes serving around 20 international cities, among them New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Riyadh, Budapest, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Bangkok and Hanoi.
