Connex ist die Anwendung zur Geschäftspartnerverwaltung des Schweizer Bundesamts für Zoll und Grenzsicherheit (BAZG) im ePortal des Bundes. Einfach gesagt: Über Connex meldet sich eine Firma einmalig als Geschäftspartner des BAZG an – der erste Schritt, um digitale Zoll-Services wie das Warenverkehrssystem Passar oder die LSVA überhaupt nutzen zu können. Für Profis (Spediteure, Frächter, Zollagenten, Importeure): Nach dem Login im ePortal (eportal.admin.ch) öffnet man über die Suche die Kachel «Connex» und legt mit «Geschäftspartner hinzufügen» die Firma anhand ihrer UID (Unternehmens-Identifikationsnummer) an. Anschliessend löst das BAZG automatisch einen Verifizierungsbrief aus, der an die im UID-Register hinterlegte Geschäftsadresse versandt wird (Zustellung in 2–3 Werktagen). Der Brief enthält einen Onboarding-Code, mit dem das persönliche Benutzerkonto mit dem Geschäftspartner verknüpft und die anmeldende Person zur Portal-Administratorin bzw. zum Portal-Administrator wird. Ausländische Firmen ohne UID registrieren sich mit ihrer DUNS-Nummer. Erst danach werden die passenden Geschäftspartnerrollen (z. B. «Fracht», «Transport») beantragt. Abgrenzung: Connex regelt, WER als Firma beim BAZG registriert ist und wer sie verwaltet; welche Services genutzt werden dürfen, bestimmen die Geschäftspartnerrollen, und die eigentliche Anmeldung erfolgt über AGOV.
