Business Partner ID (GP-ID, Swiss customs)
Before a Swiss company can apply for an authorisation in the BAZG ePortal or hold an end-use undertaking, it needs a business partner ID, known as the GP-ID.

Before a Swiss company can apply for an authorisation in the BAZG ePortal or hold an end-use undertaking, it needs a business partner ID, known as the GP-ID. The GP-ID is the unique reference under which the Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security registers a company as a business partner; it links master data, requested roles and authorisations to that company. Roles such as "end-use undertaking" are added to the GP-ID via the Connex business partner management module in the ePortal. From 1 November 2026, import declarations must carry the GP-ID of the holder of the end-use undertaking, and it must match the importer or consignee. New registrations receive an onboarding code by post that is valid for only 14 days. Not to be confused with a customs account number or the Swiss UID.
