About This Seaport
San Sebastián Bay lies at the southern end of the bay of the same name in the province of Tierra del Fuego, at the heart of the island's oil fields. The terminal, called Cargadero Cruz del Sur, is operated by Petrolera LF Company and connects via pipeline to two CALM-type Single Point Mooring buoys capable of loading crude oil or discharging refined products at 1,500 m³/h. Permitted draft is 22 metres for vessels up to 60,000 DWT; annual throughput is around 700,000 m³ of crude. The nearest town is Río Grande, approximately 140 km to the south via Ruta Nacional 3 (80 km paved, 60 km gravel). There is no general cargo or container facility; the port is exclusively dedicated to crude oil tanker operations.
