About This Seaport
Set within the Paraná Delta in southern Entre Ríos, Puerto Ibicuy is the province's leading river terminal and one of the few Argentine river ports able to work oceangoing ships, thanks to roughly 10.8 m of wharf depth and deep access channels. Its trade is built on forestry: wood pulp, eucalyptus and pine logs are loaded around the clock, alongside rice, steel products and general cargo delivered directly by truck or rail wagon. Liner container services are not established, so containerised freight is usually routed through Buenos Aires or Zárate. A private operator, PTP Warrant SA, is investing to complete a multipurpose terminal and broaden the cargo base. Road and rail link the jetty to the agricultural and forestry hinterland of the Mesopotamia region. For forwarders, Ibicuy suits breakbulk, forest products and project cargo rather than boxed trades.
