Its quays are shallow (cargo pier around 4.9 m) and serve inner-port functions, including the ferry and passenger terminal near Westerplatte. The region's real container and bulk volumes – Baltic Hub at roughly 2.8 million TEU in 2025 and the Naftoport crude oil terminal – are handled in Gdańsk's outer port, not at Nowy Port itself. For containerised or heavy bulk consignments, the outer Gdańsk terminals or neighbouring Gdynia are the appropriate choice.
