Operated by PSA International, Baltic Hub — until recently DCT Gdańsk — is the only deep-water container terminal on the Baltic and the sole port in the region handling ocean-going vessels of up to roughly 20,000 TEU directly from Asia via Suez. That direct connectivity spares shippers the transshipment leg through Rotterdam or Hamburg. Throughput reached a record 2.242 million TEU in 2024. The new T3 terminal — opened in late 2025 with seven semi-automated STS cranes, a 717-metre quay and 17.5 metres of depth — has lifted capacity to 4.5 million TEU. A water depth near 18 metres accommodates the largest container ships afloat. Beyond boxes, the Northern Port handles crude oil at Naftoport, coal, LPG and grain, while the inner harbour serves general and breakbulk cargo. Rail — carrying a growing share of inland volumes — together with road links the quays to Poland, Czechia and Slovakia. For cargo bound for the central Baltic, neighbouring Gdynia is a practical alternative, and Hamburg or Rotterdam cover pure feeder relations.
