Sumburgh Airport (IATA: LSI, ICAO: EGPB) is located in Sumburgh at the southern tip of the Shetland Islands, Scotland, at approximately 6 metres — the only commercial airport in the Shetland Islands and the most important helicopter base for the North Sea oil and gas industry (Sulom Voe terminal, BP, Shell). Loganair serves connections to Aberdeen and Inverness; offshore helicopter operators (CHC, Bristow) serve the North Sea fields. Cargo services for the offshore energy industry and belly cargo ensure basic supply for the Shetlands; for larger shipments, Aberdeen Airport (IATA: ABZ) is the nearest major option.
