A single 1,836-metre runway, business-aviation FBOs and a cluster of hangars: Seletar Airport (IATA: XSP, ICAO: WSSL) in northern Singapore is built for corporate jets, pilot training and aerospace industry rather than airline traffic. Opened in 1928 as a Royal Air Force station — Singapore's first airfield — it now anchors the Seletar Aerospace Park, home to Rolls-Royce engine assembly, ST Engineering MRO shops and a Bombardier service centre, with Firefly turboprops linking to Subang near Kuala Lumpur. There is no cargo terminal: air freight belongs at Changi (SIN), about 20 minutes away by road. For forwarders, Seletar matters mainly as a destination for aerospace spare-parts logistics serving the on-site engine and MRO plants.
