Not to be confused with the civilian Ramon International Airport (ETM) near Eilat, Ramon Air Base sits in the Negev desert south of Beersheba and serves the Israeli Air Force as a fighter base. It is entirely military, closed to passenger and freight traffic alike. Its runways and aprons are reserved for operational use. Commercial air cargo for Israel is processed at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) near Tel Aviv. For logistics operators, Ramon Air Base has no freight relevance.
