Boscombe Down is a test site, not a freight gateway. Operated by QinetiQ for the UK Ministry of Defence, MoD Boscombe Down (ICAO: EGDM) is Britain's principal centre for aircraft and weapons-system trials, set near Salisbury in Wiltshire. It is reserved exclusively for military and government testing, with no scheduled or charter civilian flights and no commercial cargo handling. For air freight, the region relies on Bournemouth (BOH) and Southampton (SOU) for regional volume and London Heathrow (LHR) for international shipments.
