Jet2 built its largest base here: Leeds Bradford Airport (IATA: LBA, ICAO: EGNM), Yorkshire's principal airport, handled about 4.29 million passengers in the 2024/25 financial year, its busiest on record. Set at Yeadon between Leeds and Bradford, it also sees Ryanair and easyJet add a wide European leisure and business network. Air freight, however, is a minor activity: goods move as belly cargo in passenger holds, with no significant dedicated freighter operation. For larger air-cargo volumes or full freighters serving Yorkshire, Manchester Airport (IATA: MAN) — about 110 km west and the north of England's leading cargo hub — is the practical gateway. By road, LBA connects via the A65 to the A658 and the A1(M). For temperature- or time-critical shipments, Manchester is usually the more workable option.
