Cotswold Airport (GBA / EGBP), on the former RAF Kemble site near Cirencester in Gloucestershire, is described as the largest privately owned general aviation airport in the United Kingdom and has a runway of roughly 2,000 metres. There are no scheduled services and no cargo handling; the site is known instead for the storage and dismantling of retired airliners by Air Salvage International, which reports more than 1,600 disassembly projects, alongside maintenance and business aviation. Its only link to air freight is as a source of aircraft components for the global parts trade — the shipments themselves move via Bristol (BRS), Birmingham (BHX), London Heathrow (LHR) or, for dedicated freighters, East Midlands (EMA).
