The Capitán Piloto Aviador José Covarrubias Pérez airfield near Ciudad Guzmán in the south of the Mexican state of Jalisco is a small field for private, training and rescue flying, with no scheduled service, no IATA connection and no freight handling. There is no cargo terminal, no handling agent and no customs post, so its cargo relevance is slight. Air freight for the region is processed at Guadalajara (GDL) about 130 kilometres to the north, where customs clearance also takes place, while the Pacific port of Manzanillo (airport ZLO) is the nearest option for sea and multimodal solutions, with Colima (CLQ) as a local alternative field.
