Operated by the Bangladesh Air Force, the Bogra site has seen no scheduled civil service for years; the runway is used mainly for training flights and civilian movements require prior approval. Reopening for civil traffic is discussed from time to time but no regular service has been established, and with no freight handling, terminal or customs post the field carries no cargo relevance. Air freight for northern Bangladesh is routed via Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal (DAC), with Sylhet Osmani (ZYL) and Chittagong Shah Amanat (CGP) as alternatives.
