A rebuilt terminal, a resurfaced and lengthened runway and new lighting and navigation equipment gave Bafoussam Airport (IATA: BFX, ICAO: FKKU) its current shape ahead of the 2021/22 Africa Cup of Nations. The field serves Cameroon's West Region from the densely populated Bamileke highlands at roughly 1,325 metres, where coffee and market-garden produce dominate the local economy. Camair-Co is the only scheduled operator, flying to Douala three days a week. No dedicated cargo terminal or freighter operation is confirmed at BFX. Regional exports travel by road to Douala (DLA), about 270 km southwest, which handles the country's air freight and customs clearance; Yaoundé Nsimalen (NSI), some 300 km southeast, is the secondary option. For forwarders, BFX is a passenger feeder rather than an air cargo point.
