TGZ Airport (Angel Albino Corzo International Airport) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

Aeroméxico Connect, Volaris and Viva Aerobus supply nearly all the traffic at Angel Albino Corzo International Airport (IATA: TGZ, ICAO: MMTG), the main air gateway to Mexico's southern state of Chiapas. Opened in 2006 near Chiapa de Corzo and run by Grupo Aeroportuario de Chiapas, it handled 1,708,535 passengers in 2025, ranking 20th in Mexico. Air freight is a secondary business: there is no dedicated cargo terminal and no freighter handling, so shipments travel as belly cargo on those passenger flights. The one scheduled cargo service — TUM AeroCarga's converted CRJ200s carrying roughly 7 tonnes to Toluca via Oaxaca — was discontinued in January 2025. Chiapas coffee, bananas, mango and cacao therefore leave mainly by truck towards central Mexico or through Pacific seaports. For volume air cargo and international customs clearance, forwarders route via Mexico City (MEX) or Felipe Ángeles (NLU), about 850 road kilometres northwest, with Villahermosa (VSA) the nearest southeastern alternative.
