Turkmenistan Airlines is the state-owned flag carrier of Turkmenistan and sells air freight under its own name, without a separate cargo brand. The legal entity is Turkmenistan Airlines Open Joint Stock Company, based in Ashgabat; in Turkmen the company is known as Türkmenhowaýollary. The air operator certificate and the traffic rights sit with the same company that runs the passenger business, so cargo moves both in the bellies of passenger aircraft and on the carrier's own freighters. Two Airbus A330-200P2F aircraft are available for pure freighter services; they were taken over in March and April 2023 (as of 27 April 2023). For this type a payload of up to 61 tonnes and a range of up to 7,700 kilometres are quoted. The company also operates Ilyushin Il-76TD freighters; no reliable source states how many, so that figure is left blank. The hub is Ashgabat International Airport (ASB).
