CMA CGM AIR CARGO is the air freight carrier of the French shipping and logistics group CMA CGM. The company trades as CMA CGM AIR CARGO SAS, with its registered office at Boulevard Jacques Saadé, 4 Quai d'Arenc, in Marseille, and is entered in the Marseille commercial register. The group launched the division in March 2021; operations began on 8 March 2021 with an Airbus A330-200F between Liège and Chicago, at that time still under the flight code of Belgium's Air Belgium. Since May 2022 the company has flown under its own designator, and since 1 June 2022 it has held its own French air operator certificate issued by the Direction générale de l'aviation civile. CMA CGM AIR CARGO is a pure freighter operator with no passenger business. The carrier deploys its own Boeing 777F aircraft and one Airbus A330-200F; Airbus A350F freighters are on order and are scheduled to arrive from late 2027. Part of the network is not flown by the French company itself: the transpacific services out of Chicago O'Hare are operated by Atlas Air under an ACMI arrangement carrying the CMA CGM AIR CARGO brand, while the Belgian rotations from Brussels and Liège are flown by group company Air Belgium with Boeing 747-8F aircraft. CMA CGM took over Air Belgium's cargo operations on 30 April 2025 but deliberately retained the Air Belgium brand. Forwarders should keep this distinction between brand and operating carrier in mind for liability and handling questions. The main hub is Paris-Charles de Gaulle, complemented by Chicago O'Hare, Brussels and Liège. Scheduled services link Europe with mainland China, Hong Kong and Vietnam, and North America with East Asia and Mexico. For air waybill purposes: IATA designator 2C, ICAO code CMA, AWB prefix 003, callsign FRENCH CARGO. Booking, schedules and shipment tracking run through the Cargospot portal operated by CHAMP Cargosystems. Products cover general cargo, perishables, live animals, dangerous goods, temperature-controlled and pharmaceutical shipments, valuables and charter.
