e-dec Import is the module of Switzerland's e-dec system used to declare imports electronically to the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG). Anyone importing goods into Switzerland uses it to declare them for clearance; private individuals and shippers use the free e-dec Web application, while forwarders, hauliers and customs agents use certified software via an interface. Unlike e-dec Export (already migrated to Passar Export at the end of 2025), e-dec Import is still in operation and is being gradually replaced under the customs digitalisation programme DaziT by the Passar 2.0 stage: the first build steps (Import Standard) are available for pilot use from the second quarter of 2026; the last import declaration via e-dec is expected to be possible on 30 September 2027, after which import declarations will be made exclusively through Passar. The Declar web application replaces e-dec Web by the end of Q3 2027. For professionals: once the declaration is lodged, the electronic assessment decision (eVV) for imports is issued as legal proof; Passar requires registration as a business partner in the BAZG ePortal. Not to be confused with e-dec Export, with the transport and goods declaration in Passar, or with the NCTS transit system. Roadmap dates are planning status and may shift. Last updated: June 2026.
