The Digital Transport Slip (DTS) is a digitally generated routing slip within Switzerland's new Passar goods-traffic system operated by the BAZG. It is created automatically from the data already entered in the transport declaration and accompanies the transport at the border crossing. In plain terms, the DTS replaces the former paper routing slip and allows a border crossing without stopping at the counter – on the Swiss side and gradually on the side of neighbouring countries too. For professionals (drivers, hauliers, freight forwarders): in Passar, goods and transport data are split into two independent declarations – the goods declaration (Warenanmeldung, WA) for the goods and the transport declaration (Transportanmeldung, TA) for the transport; every WA must be linked (referenced) to a TA. The DTS is generated from the TA and carries the automated or simplified border process. From July 2026, smaller companies and transport operators can use the free Declar web application to create a transport declaration or a DTS without commercial customs software and load it into the Activ app via a link; the app acts as the signal for activation at the border.
