Cathay Cargo est la marque fret de Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, la compagnie aérienne de la région administrative spéciale de Hong Kong. Aucune société distincte ne se cache derrière ce nom : l'exploitant des avions et la partie contractante de la lettre de transport aérien est Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, dont les actions sont cotées à la bourse de Hong Kong, tout comme celles de ses actionnaires principaux Swire Pacific et Air China. Le groupe Cathay comprend également le transporteur tout-cargo Air Hong Kong et l'assistant en escale Cathay Cargo Terminal. Cathay Cargo opère en transporteur mixte. Sa flotte tout-cargo compte 20 Boeing 747 — 14 B747-8F et six B747-400ERF (état au 27 mai 2026). S'y ajoutent huit Airbus A350F commandés : six issus de la commande de 2023 et deux autres au titre de droits d'achat exercés en mai 2026. Cathay Cargo commercialise en outre la capacité en soute du réseau passagers du groupe, qui dessert plus de 100 destinations dans le monde. Le hub est l'aéroport international de Hong Kong (HKG), classé par l'Airports Council International premier aéroport de fret mondial à quinze reprises depuis 2010. La manutention y est assurée par le Cathay Cargo Terminal du groupe, en service depuis 2013. Pour les transitaires : le code IATA est CX, le code OACI CPA et le préfixe LTA 160 — une lettre de transport aérien prend donc la forme 160-12345678. Pour les expéditions à l'export depuis Hong Kong, la lettre de transport aérien électronique (e-AWB) s'applique intégralement depuis le 1er janvier 2011. Outre le fret général, Cathay Cargo propose les solutions spécialisées Cathay Priority, Cathay Pharma, Cathay Fresh, Cathay Live Animal, Cathay Dangerous Goods, Cathay Secure, Cathay Courier, Cathay Mail et Cathay Expert ; les neuf classes de marchandises dangereuses sont acceptées. Cathay Cargo détient les certifications IATA CEIV Pharma, Fresh, Live Animals et Lithium Batteries ainsi que l'adhésion à Cargo iQ.
