PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara runs Tanjung Benete (ID BEN) as the dedicated export gateway for its Batu Hijau copper-gold operation in southern Sumbawa. Copper concentrate is slurry-pumped roughly 17.6 km from the mine to Benete Bay, where it is dewatered, held in around 80,000 t of storage and loaded onto bulk carriers at 900-1,000 t/h. Since 2024 a copper smelter about 1.5 km from the quay has added refined-metal flows to the site. This is an industrial mineral terminal rather than a commercial port: there are no liner container services, no public customs gateway and no general break-bulk berths. Inland links are limited to private mine-and-smelter roads, with no rail connection. Forwarders moving containers or project cargo to West Nusa Tenggara normally route via Lembar or, for mainline boxes, Tanjung Priok in Jakarta.
