About This Seaport
Euroports, together with partner GEK TERNA, operates Kavala's working cargo facility, the Filippos B terminal on Greece's northern Aegean shore. Spanning roughly 180,000 square metres with quays of 610 and 315 metres and up to 12.5 metres of draft, the terminal handles minerals such as marble, fertilisers, agribulk, breakbulk, RoRo and a limited volume of containers. Liquid and petroleum cargoes move separately via the Revoil CBM berth and the gas terminal at Nea Karvali, with an offshore oil terminal off Prinos. The port processes around 1.6 million tonnes of cargo and some 600 vessels a year, with marble, cereals and tobacco as its principal exports. Road and rail links carry goods into the Macedonian and Thracian hinterland. Shippers needing scheduled deep-sea container services generally route through Thessaloniki or Piraeus, while Kavala excels in regional bulk and project cargo.
