GR CFU Port (Kerkira) – Terminals, Draft, Agents

About This Seaport

Passengers and vehicles, not containers, shape the port of Kerkira (GR CFU) – the Greek name for Corfu – on the east coast of the Ionian island. The central port of Corfu Town is essentially a ferry and cruise port: domestic ferries link it with Igoumenitsa and Patras on the mainland, while international RoPax lines call at Italian ports (including Bari, Brindisi and Ancona) and at Saranda in Albania. On the cruise side Corfu ranks among Greece's leading ports – more than 560 calls and close to one million passengers are booked for 2026, roughly 20 percent up year-on-year. Accompanied freight travels on the RoRo decks of these lines and through the port's extensive marshalling areas for trucks and trailers. For pure container or bulk traffic, however, Corfu is only of limited use: the cargo pier is very shallow at about 3.4 m, so conventional freighters and container ships go elsewhere. Forwarders moving break-bulk or containers for the region use the mainland gateway of Igoumenitsa opposite, or the larger port of Patras.
