TR IZT Port (Izmit) – Terminals, Draft, Agents

About This Seaport

Dozens of private terminals line the Gulf of İzmit on the Sea of Marmara, roughly 100 km east of Istanbul, forming one of Turkey's densest port clusters and handling around 72 million tonnes a year. The container side is led by DP World Evyap Yarımca — the rebranded name following the 2024 merger of DP World Yarımca and the adjacent Evyapport — which now has a combined annual capacity exceeding 2 million TEU. Yılport Solventaş is the country's largest liquid-bulk terminal, and Euroports handles forest products and general cargo. In August 2026, Maersk shifted its SLR Marmara Sea service from DP World Evyap Yarımca to Safiport Derince, a routing change shippers should verify when booking. The bay handles dry and liquid bulk, containers, breakbulk and ro-ro, serving Kocaeli's automotive, petrochemical and refining industries. Road motorways and rail connect to Istanbul and the Anatolian interior. Ambarlı near Istanbul and Gemlik provide additional container options in the Marmara region.
