About This Seaport
Three terminals, well over a million TEU of combined capacity and one of Turkey's busiest vehicle gateways — Gemlik, on its namesake gulf in the Sea of Marmara, punches far above the modest label often attached to it. Borusan Port offers roughly 1,773 metres of quay, eight mobile harbour cranes and capacity above 500,000 TEU, alongside strong general-cargo, project-cargo and vehicle-handling operations. Yılport Gemport adds four main berths and up to 650,000 TEU a year on semi-automated equipment, with Rodaport a further operator in the bay. The port is central to the automotive, chemical and agricultural exports of the Bursa industrial region. It handles containers, general cargo and heavy Ro-Ro and vehicle traffic across both import and export flows. Motorway links to Bursa and Istanbul connect one of Turkey's densest manufacturing clusters. As an established international port, full customs and export clearance are available on site, and in April 2026 Borusan Port commissioned a new container X-ray scanner to speed security and customs checks. Shippers seeking alternatives or extra capacity can turn to Ambarlı, Asyaport (Tekirdağ) or the İzmit Bay terminals at Evyap and Yarımca.
