About This Seaport
Roughly 66 km up the Rajang River in Sarawak, Bintangor is the smallest of the Rajang Port Authority's three wharves, alongside Sibu and Sarikei. It has a single berth for general and bulk cargo, served by quay, mobile and floating cranes with open yards and warehouses, but handles only around 500 tonnes a year. Sawn timber and timber products dominate, shipped mainly to Peninsular Malaysia and regionally to Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and on to China, Japan and Europe. For containers or larger consignments, nearby Sibu, the deep-water port of Bintulu and Kuching are the practical alternatives.
