Once a substantial military air base during Angola's colonial and civil-war years, Negage airport (GXG) today sees only thin civilian traffic. It lies at about 1,251 m in Uíge Province, long Angola's main region for robusta coffee. Scheduled service, where available, runs via TAAG to Luanda, and the field has no cargo infrastructure of its own. Freight for the region is handled at Luanda (LAD/NBJ), with GXG limited at most to belly load on passenger flights.
