Skyward Express is effectively the airline serving Lodwar (LOK), linking the remote Turkana town with Eldoret, Kitale, Nairobi and the coast and offering light passenger and charter cargo. The airport also handles government, emergency and UNHAS humanitarian flights for UN and NGO staff. Its single asphalt runway is only about 1,000 metres long, so there is no freighter operation, cargo terminal or cold storage. Trade shipments of any size route through Eldoret (EDL) or Nairobi (NBO). For logistics, LOK is a relief-focused feeder rather than a commercial freight airport.
