Despite the 'International' in its title and the code KHT, Khost handles little more than seasonal domestic traffic. Kam Air's link to Kabul typically runs only from August to October, leaving the airport quiet for much of the year. There is no meaningful freight terminal, customs post or cargo handling on site. Shipments bound for this eastern province near the Pakistani border move by road or fly through Hamid Karzai International in Kabul, the country's genuine air-freight reference point. For forwarders, KHT is a destination to feed, not a transhipment option.
