KHI Airport (Jinnah International Airport) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

More than 27,000 tonnes of cargo left Karachi aboard Emirates freighters and bellyholds in 2024 alone, underlining why Jinnah International Airport (KHI) remains Pakistan's busiest international gateway for goods. By January 2026 the main runway was also extended to roughly 3,505 metres (11,500 feet) and upgraded to ICAO Category 4F, clearing the way for unrestricted operation of large freighters such as the Boeing 747-8F. Serving a metropolitan area of over 16 million people and the country's largest industrial base, the airport handles textiles, pharmaceuticals, machinery parts and perishables. A defining advantage is its proximity to the Port of Karachi and Port Qasim, enabling combined sea-air movements that few other Pakistani locations can match. Alongside Emirates SkyCargo, carriers such as Qatar Airways Cargo, Turkish Cargo, Saudia Cargo and Pakistan International Airlines move freight here, with Terminals 2 and 3 dedicated largely to cargo, charter and general aviation. Customs clearance runs through Pakistan Customs, supported by bonded warehouses for both import and export consignments. National highways link the cargo apron to the SITE and Korangi industrial estates, while the northbound railway extends reach into the country's interior. Emirates' decision to build a dedicated cargo facility of roughly 8,400 square metres signals continued growth in the airport's freight role.
