Tucked in Libya's far southwest, near the borders with Algeria and Niger, Al Wigh Airport is a small airfield with a historically military role. Given the continued instability in Libya, its current operational status is unconfirmed, and the region is not effectively served by commercial air freight. The nearest larger airport is Sabha, roughly 300 km to the north.
