Import duties revision is the official examination of previously assessed customs duties, taxes, and fees to verify their accuracy. Customs authorities review whether the assessment (commodity value, tariff classification, tax rate) was correct and may reassess or correct duties if errors are found. This can occur ex officio or upon request of the importer. For importers, revision offers a way to recover overpaid amounts; for authorities, it is a control mechanism against under-declaration or assessment errors.
